Tips & Recipies

Want to get the best our products? Here are a couple tips.
Picture
Soap & Home Products
  • Keep bar soap well drained. Dry soap lasts longer.
  • Less is better. Use the minimum recommended amount of laundry soap. To much can leave soap residues in your laundry.
  • Use deodorant sparingly and after applying rub into skin with fingers. Deodorant is intended to soak in. Using to much will leave some on the surface of your skin and can stain clothing.
  • Store Body Butter in a cool, dark place (keep it out of direct sunlight). It will melt above approximately 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Melted body butter can still be used as long as it wasn't cooked at high temperatures. High temperatures cause the oils to break down and go rancid.

Meat
  • Crock-pots are your friend. Grass-fed and pastured meat cook best at low temperatures and for long times.

Recipes
Here are a couple of our favorite recipes

  • Any roast
  1. Defrost meat
  2. 4-6 cloves of garlic, sliced and put in the bottom of the crock pot
  3. About 3/4 cup of any dry red wine (We usually get something cheap. Even Aldi wine is great for this recipe.)
  4. Sprinkle 1 tsp of salt per pound of roast. Sprinkle on the roast and then into the wine
  5. Add a little bit of water to make sure it doesn't run out of liquid. I like there to be about 1-2 inches of liquid around the bottom. Crock-pots cooking temperatures vary, but cook it on medium for 8-10 hours.

  • Oven Roasted Chicken
  1. Defrost chicken
  2. Rub entire chicken with olive oil.
  3. Lay in pan with breast up.
  4. Sprinkle liberally with course sea salt.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder to taste.
  6. Dry Basil leaves - lightly cover chicken
  7. Dry Oregano leaves  - twice the amount as Basil.
  8. Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for one hour.
  9. Turn oven up to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered an additional 30 - 60 minutes until chicken is golden brown and skin is crispy. Check that chicken is cooked all the way through before serving.
